Walt Disney Records: The Legacy Collection

Walt Disney Records lanceert op 24 juni a.s. een nieuwe serie CD's genaamd The Legacy Collection. Tot en met augustus 2015 wordt er Iedere maand een CD uitgebracht met niet eerder uitgebrachte muziek. The Lion King is de eerste CD die wordt uitgebracht. De uitgave bestaat uit 2 discs met op disc 1 de welbekende liedjes van Elton John en Tim Rice en 30 minuten aan niet eerder uitgebrachte filmmuziek van Hans Zimmer. Disc 2 bevat demo's van Hans Zimmer's filmmuziek, liedjes die niet in de originele bioscoopversie te horen waren en drie liedjes gezongen door Elton John die ook op de eerder uitgebrachte CD stonden.

Speelduur van de tracks toegevoegd in het eerste bericht van dit topic. Disc 1 bevat 74 minuten muziek waarvan zo'n 36 niet eerder uitgebracht. Disc 2 duurt 47 minuten. Timon's hula liedje staat ook op de CD (disc 1, einde track 20).

De uitgave heeft een boekachtige verpakking waarin de liedteksten staan. De discs zitten niet in een tray, maar in een hoesje. Persoonlijk ben ik niet te spreken over deze manier van opslaan van discs, omdat het risico op krassen groot is bij het uithalen van de discs.

Inmiddels zijn de specificaties van Mary Poppins bekend gemaakt. De uitgave bevat 3 discs, maar disc 1 en 3 zijn al eerder uitgebracht als disc 1 en 2 van de 2-disc Special Edition CD ter ere van de 40ste verjaardag van de film. Alleen disc 2 bevat wat nieuwe tracks, maar dat zijn wat demo's en nieuw opgenomen versies van liedjes. De CD verschijnt op 26 augustus. Hieronder de artwork en tracklist.
