The French DVDRAMA.NET reported on September 10, 2002, that Paramount Pictures "officially announced" at the Deauville Film Festivals that the Indiana Jones DVDs worldwide release date is October 2003.

Back in August 28, 2002, Ain't It Cool News reported that highly placed sources told them the entire Indiana Jones trilogy will be released on DVD by Christmas 2003. 'Variety' reported on December 27 that Steven Spielberg said that the release of 'Indy 4' to theaters would be "synchronized" to the release of the first three films on DVD. 'Empire' Magazine talked with Steven Spielberg in January 2003. Spielberg told 'Empire' that "We will see the Indy trilogy definitely by the end of this year." and that he wanted to release one at a time, but Paramount is keen on a box-set. So the idea seems to be that 'Raiders' hits DVD in 2003, 'Temple of Doom' arrives on disc in 2004 and 'Last Crusade' shows up in early 2005, just before the new film hits theaters.

Paramount Pictures nor Lucasfilm has still not "officially announced" when the Indiana Jones DVD's will be released but Steven Spielberg already said that we may expect at least one of the films on DVD between late October and December 2003.

Ik weet nog niet of je in augustus op deze box moet rekenen. Hadden we dan allang niet wat meer informatie gekregen over deze release ?

(29-04-2003) Indyfan Jonathan Miller was recently on the phone with a local (Western Australia) office of Paramount Home Entertainment when the person on the other end of the line mentioned the Indiana Jones DVDs. (ie: both are very much creator-controlled, unlike the majority of back catalogue titles).

Jonathan managed to gather the following information regarding the Indy films on DVD:

Obviously, it will be a world-wide release in November.
It will only be available as a 3 movie box set, not as individual films.
There will be 4 discs, including a bonus features disc with "2 1/2 hours
of material".
Not much new info but it's semi-official. The studio will make the news official in the next few weeks.

Kortom, vergeet augustus en hou de komende weken de persberichten van Paramount in de gaten...zoals we in het bericht al hadden gemeld!

Ik geloof het pas dat ze uitkomen als ik ze in mijn handen heb ... want hier wordt nu al zo lang over gespeculeerd dat ik het gewoon allemaal niet meer geloof ....

Rick McCallum heeft vorig jaar in een interview gezegd, dat Lucasfilm de gehele serie van Young Indy op DVD gaat uitbrengen. Maar helaas zei Rick niet wanneer. Wel zei hij dat de DVD's een "historische inhoud" zullen krijgen. Geschiedenisles ala Discory Channel als extra's zeg maar

Klopt inderdaad .... maar het zal niet voor direct zijn als je weet hoeveel Young Indiana Jones chronicles er zijn en als men daar allemaal documentaires wil voor gaan filmen ... dit is een project dat dan over de komende 10 jaar loopt denk ik ...

Mja ach, het zou me niks verbazen als er eerst een "uitgeklede" box komt, met de drie films en wat extra's, en dat we dan over een jaar of 4 opeens een supersmulbox kunnen kopen met 6 schijven en zo... Beetje het "Alien" verhaal.... :wink: Maar goed, daar zit ik dan ook niet mee...!!!

Of nog beter. The complete adventures of Indiana Jones. Tot nu toe zijn er 25 verhalen verfilmd (inclusief de 3 bioscoop films). En mocht de 4e bioscoopfilm komen dan wordt (uiteraard) 26 verhalen/films. En dan praat ik alleen maar over de (TV)films

Het laatste persbericht dat we bij DVD Info van Paramount hebben binnen gekregen vermeldt de titel voor dit jaar, helaas zonder exacte datum

Indiana Jones (DVD): 'Jonathon Miller' scored some interesting news on the discs and their latest rumoured incarnation: "I was on the phone to a local (Western Australia) office of Paramount Home Entertainment today in regard to a problem I had with my Godfather DVD Collection, when the lady on the other end of the line let slip with a reference to the Indy DVDs (ie: both are very much creator-controlled, unlike the majority of back catalogue titles. She indicated that Indy will be a world-wide release in November, and will only be available as a three-movie box set, not as individual films (ala the "Back to the Future" trilogy). There will be four discs, including a bonus features disc with "2.5 hours of material". So much for the 'yearly release' plan.

Begin allemaal maar vast met centjes opzij leggen. Zoals we al hadden opgevangen zal in november definitief de Indiana Jones Collection box verschijnen. Paramount heeft vandaag op de officiele Indy-site een persbericht uitgedaan.
