Ik vond een review van a knights tale (R1) op www.widescreen.com) hieronder de tekstuele uitleg....

Groet Bjorn

Story Synopsis:
(If you are not a Queen fan, surely you watch football...so here we go...) Heath Ledger plays a poor man, a poor man named William, and William wants to be a big man some day. He wants blood on his face...to please His Grace...jousting in disguise all over the place. The tagline’s He Will, He Will Rock You! A Knight’s Tale is set in 1270, which is way before there was rock and roll! It’s got a quick pace...with sub-25 Hz bass...but it’s up to you whether it’s done in good taste. The tagline’s He Will, He Will Rock You! Includes audio commentary, several featurettes, deleted scenes, an HBO making-of special, a Robbie Williams and Queen music video, and filmographies. (Suzanne Hodges)

DVD Picture:
The anamorphically enhanced 2.35:1 DVD picture exhibits sharp and detailed images, with pleasing clarity and depth. At times, images can seem a bit soft. Colors are well balanced, with rich hues that appear natural (as opposed to oversaturated), accurate fleshtones, and deep blacks. Especially impressive are the subtle exterior hues, like the lush, green forests, gray stone castles, and dusty roads. The source element is often revealing of film grain. Edge enhancement and pixelization are apparent, but minimal. (Suzanne Hodges)

Soundtrack:
The Dolby Digital® 5.1-channel soundtrack is a production that is certainly worthy of commendation, which, when fully engaging the dimensional soundfield, is downright immersive and engulfing. The sonic character seems slightly subdued in the midrange, but fidelity is nonetheless remarkable. Also, overall volume level seems a bit lower than expected at times. During the various charge duels and jousts, as well as with the crowds, the listening space becomes energized, with sub-25 Hz bass extension all around, along with prominant .1 LFE activity. In the presence of the music, particularly the repurposed classic hits, the dimensional soundstage is also substantially engaged. Otherwise, the nature of the soundfield activity is somewhat more reserved, but nonetheless holosonic. The dialogue production is remarkable, with voices exhibiting natural tonality and spatial ambience. The soundtrack delivers an impressive spatial listening experience and should certainly satisfy, while engaging the listener. (Perry Sun)
