Review:

The seed of revenge takes place in 1846, when a battle is fought against the Irish and the 'native' Americans over the Five Points area of New York City. It is here where 'Bill the Butcher" (Daniel Day-Lewis in his Academy Award Nominated Role) slays Priest Vallon, whose son, Amsterdam Vallon (Di Caprio) is then taken to an orphanage.

The plot unfolds in 1863 when Amsterdam returns to New York City and the Five Points to exact his revenge against his father's killers in Martin Scorsese's epic 'Gangs of New York'
