Op de webiste van play.com (en CD-WOW) wordt er een nieuwe(?) DVD aangeboden van Dune die op 29/9/2003 uit moet komen.
En nee, het is niet de Children of Dune DVD.
Hij staat als "Dune (Special Edition)" op de website, maar op Internet kan ik niets vinden (behalve de Duitse uitgebreide versie).
Weet iemand iets over deze DVD?

Blijkbaar gaat het hier om de gewone versie met een aantal extra supplementen (de speelduur is in elk geval niet gewijzigd). In Japan is hij ooit verschenen in een massieve laserdiscbox met meer dan een uur aan extra materiaal (het was ogenschijnlijk de bedoeling om de film als mini-serie voor tv aan te passen maar David Lynch is hier nooit echt happy mee geweest) en ik denk niet dat we die extra lange versie hier nog te zien gaan krijgen.
En nu maar hopen dat ik hier dik ongelijk krijg natuurlijk... :?

Wat jammer is dat ik geen website van de distributeur SANCTUARY DIGITAL ENTERTAINMENT kan vinden!

Inmiddels is er al wat meer info op play.com gezet. Het gaat hier om een bijna 3-uur durende Regio 0 versie van de film. Verder is hij Widescreen 2.35:1 Anamorphic en heeft hij 5.1 Dolby Digital. De release datum is wel verzet naar 06/10/2003.
Als hij volgens Charley 3 uur lang is dan zou dit de langere versie kunnen zijn die ooit op japanse tv is uitgezonden. Ik heb zelfs de vhs daarvan.

Het lijkt erop dat de DVD er niet gaat komen of anders over een lange tijd. Dit net gekregen van CD-wow.com

Dat is idd de TV versie die ook al op DVD versie is uitgebracht door Castle, maar dan 4:3 en Mono geloof ik.
(met TV versie bedoel ik niet de tv serie, maar de David lynch film! )
