Imagine a world like nothing ever seen before, where each day is full of exploration, where you never have to grow up or grow old. This the world of Peter Pan - the clashing swords of angry rivals, the trembling plank of the Jolly Roger, the magnificent thrill of flying...and the magical power of a secret kiss.
A story of the boy who wouldn't grow up, and the girl whose family insists that she must, has up-until-now never been fully realised onscreen. Newcomer Jeremy Sumpter is the first boy to star in the title role opposite Jason Iaacs (The Patriot, Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets) as Captain Hook. Peter Pan stars an A list supporting cast including Olivia Williams (Sixth Sense, Rushmore) as Mrs Darling, Academy Award nominee Lynn Redgrave (Charlies War, Anita and Me) as Aunt Millicent and Richard Briers (Ever Decreasing Circles) as Hook's sly sidekick Smee. Tinkerbell is played by the new French phenomenon Ludivine Sagnier (Swimming Pool, Napoleon) and Rachel Hurd-Wood makes a breathtaking and acclaimed cinematic debut as Wendy.
Written and directed by P.J Hogan (My Best Friends Wedding) and produced by Lucy Fisher and Douglas Wick (Gladiator, Stuart Little), this timeless tale of Edwardian London shows Wendy Darling delighting her brothers with bedtime stories of sword-play, daring and the fearsome Hook. However, the children soon become the ultimate heroes of the story when none other than Peter Pan appears in their nursery and transports them on a magical journey over moonlit rooftops and through a galaxy of stars to the flourishing jungles of Neverland.
Peter Pan is an exhilarating story of fantasy, marvel, jeopardy and excitement, a film for all the family addressing issues such as the confusion of growing up; loss of innocence and the journey and discovery of adult emotions. An all-time classic, preserved in the essence of J.M Barrie's original work but rediscovered as an epic production with breath taking visual effects make Peter Pan a must own on DVD and video.
