Roger Waters
The Wall Live in Berlin
Special Edition
On the 18th October in Europe, a new Special Edition of Roger Waters The Wall Live in Berlin DVD was released. The original DVD release was in April 2003 and has been hailed a commercial success by Universal, earlier this year the DVD was packaged with the double album and sold as a complete set and again the sets sold very well.
Now the DVD has received the 'Special Edition treatment and looks better than ever; the DVD disc is housed in a beautifully produced tri-fold case incorporating original stage ideas by Mark Fisher and Jonathan Park. The DVD also incorporates a brand new audio function which allows you to break into the mix of two live songs. First is Joni Mitchell's beautifully sung version of 'Goodbye Blue Sky, you can choose to only listen to the orchestra, the choir, or just Joni Mitchell almost acapella. Pressing the audio button on your DVD player's remote control, allows you to switch mid song between the various mixes. The second song to utilise this feature is The Scorpions performing the opening song, 'In the Flesh, again you can choose between orchestra, brass band and just the bands performance. I found this feature a great tool and of course in particular the orchestra mix is very revealing. More details and product photos can be found here.
