Universal Studios Home Video have announced the Region 1 DVD release of Jarhead for 7th March 2006. Sam Mendes directs this film based on former Marine Anthony Swofford's best-selling 2003 book about his pre-Desert Storm experiences in Saudi Arabia and about his experiences fighting in Kuwai. Jake Gyllenhaal stars alongside Jamie Foxx, Peter Sarsgaard, Chris Cooper, Sam Rockwell and Dennis Haysbert.

The film will be released in both single-disc (separate Widescreen and Full Screen versions, $29.98 SRP) and two-disc "Collector's Edition" (Widescreen, $39.98 SRP) forms, each offering the same feature presentation with English, French and Spanish audio (DD5.1 Surround) and subtitle options. Bonus features are TBC. The Collector's Edition will be a digipak with slip sleeve, and includes a Collectible Photo Book.

Ze zien er apart maar toch wel mooi uit vind ik. De R2 release staat gepland op 1 juni zag ik net op dvd-home.nl

PLEASE NOTE: Universal USA has withdrawn and cancelled the 2-Disc Special Edition of Jarhead in the last minute. So far no new release date has been set. Thus the only edition to be released, will be the 1-disc edition (above).

Weet iemand hoe de OOP versie er nou echt uitziet. Ik heb hem nu binnen, maar het is gewoon een keepkase met een sleeve.

The DVDs I do are originals supplied brand new and sealed in case
with hologram from the factory. They are not copies. I do not even
have a DVD burner to be able to make copies.

Ow, ik heb net zelf Jarhead R1 oop ook gewonnen op ebay, maar begin nu te twijfelen of dat nu ook een bootleg blijkt te zijn, aangezien de prijs waar ik 'm voor heb gewonnen. Maar de verkoper komt goed over en scoort goed dus het zal wel goed zitten.
