In a casual and entertaining conversation, Director Michael Bay and Visual Effects Supervisor / 2nd Unit Director Eric Brevig discuss the creation of the major effects sequences in Pearl Harbor. Animatic Attack (Disc Four):
Before there was even a script, Michael Bay and a team of artists sat down to pre-visualize the attack sequence. This animatic, portions of which you can see in the Interactive Attack Sequence and Deconstructing Destruction supplements, was the result. It was on the strength of this piece that both the studio and the U.S. military were convinced to take part in the film. It's presented here with commentary by several crew members. (5:41).
