Dat er een extended DVD editie op de markt kwam van de eerste Narnia film wisten we reeds. De bedoeling is met deze topic proberen wat duidelijkheid te scheppen van wat er op de markt komt. Alleen is het nog wat afwachten wat de datum gaat zijn voor de regio 2 release met NLO.

The official Narnia site has released details and images (zie beneden) of the 4-disc limited edition DVD, which will become available on December 12th for only seven weeks. Although many of the special features are the same as the ones that appear in the 2-disc special edition, there are several new featurettes on discs 3 and 4. The new cut of the film contains 10 extra minutes of footage.
Narnia fans in the UK will be able to purchase the extended edition of The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe on 20 November 2006. Buena Vista has announced that the Region 2 DVD release will be called the "Royal Edition." Like its American counterpart, the Royal Edition will be a four-disc set with the same set of new special features on discs three and four. It will have also be available in a limited edition gift pack, which contains a pair of intricate bookends featuring Lucy and Mr. Tumnus. The bookends were designed by the Weta Workshop, who also created many of the stunning visual effects that helped bring Narnia to life.
