Jawel, er komt weer een nieuwe uitgave op DVD van beide films. Ditmaal bestaande uit twee discs. Aangezien dit twee van mijn favoriete films zijn zal deze uitgaves wel weer in mijn collectie komen. Het persbericht:
Sony Pictures Home Entertainment has announced an Anniversary Edition of Labyrinth which stars Jennifer Connelly and David Bowie. This two-disc edition will be available to own from the 14th August, and should retail at around $24.96. As well as an all-new transfer, the set features never-before-seen footage recovered from Jim Henson’s home in England, and 60 minutes of exclusive featurettes (including "Paper, Cloth and Creatures", and "Coming of Age") that include interviews with luminaries such as George Lucas and Brian Froud. Topping it all off will be some special lenticular packaging. Unfortunately we can't show you what that looks like yet, but we hope to have a packshot very shortly.


Also arriving on the 14th August will be a 25th Anniversary Edition of Dark Crystal which should keep fans of Jim Henson happy. The two-disc set will again feature an all-new digital transfer, along with footage recovered from Jim Henson's home, and 50 minutes of all-new featurettes (including "Creatures and Creations", "Lifelike Illusion", and "Singular Vision and the Kingdom United"). The Dark Crystal heb ik al, Labyrinth nog niet. Misschien toch maar eens aanschaffen :razz:

Ik zocht die 2 titels nog (Columbia Classics Collection), maar ik denk dat ik nou maar voor deze uitgaves ga.

De geweldige muziek van Trevor Jones voor The Dark Crystal verschijnt binnenkort ook (weer) op CD:

The Dark Crystal 25th Anniversary CD Soundtrack

Aside from bringing fans a deluxe 2-disc "anniversary edition" DVD, Henson is using the 25th anniversary of "The Dark Crystal'" as a great excuse to resurrect, revisit, and release the film's magnificent soundtrack. "The Dark Crystal: 25th Anniversary Edition Soundtrack" album is set to be released on CD by La La Land Records on July 14, 2007. The film's score was written by composer Trevor Jones and performed by the London Symphony Orchestra with Marcus Dods conducting. Currently the music from the film is hard to come by, with the limited edition printings of all past releases currently out-of-print. La La Records has told me that the full details of this album (track listing, artwork and whatnot) will be made public later this month; and I will be sure to keep you posted with the details of this album when the information becomes available.

Ik ben benieuwd wat deze CD te bieden heeft in vergelijking met de gelimiteerde soundtrack die een paar jaar geleden uitgebracht is.

De Duitse versie van Labyrinth staat voor 09-08-2007 gepland en deze zal Nederlandse ondertiteling krijgen,naast de nieuwe extra,s zal er ook een audiocomentaar track op komen te staan met Brian Froud.

Wat hebben deze versies meer te bieden dan de superbit uitvoeringen van de films?!

Deze hadden al verbetered beeld en geluid.

In Duitsland is The Dark Crystal en Labyrinth al uitgebracht. Beide DVD's hebben Nederlandse ondertitels. In Nederland zijn de DVD's nog niet te bestellen, een releasedatum is ook nog niet bekend.
