Dragonball Z op witte doek !!!

Dinsdag 04 september 2007 - Ben je gek op anime, manga en dan met name op de Dragon Ball Z serie? Dan hebben we vandaag goed nieuws voor je. Na diverse series en games zal Dragon Ball Z namelijk naar het witte doek gaan komen. 20th Century Fox gaat namelijk een echte bioscoopfilm van de serie maken.

De film zou een budget hebben van maarliefst 100 miljoen dollar en zal binnenkort in productie gaan. Een datum wanneer de film in de bioscoop zou moeten gaan draaien is nog niet bekend, maar dat wordt op z'n vroegst eind 2008.

De Dragon Ball Z wordt beschouwd als één van de populairste franchises ter wereld, met onder andere een eigen tv-serie, video games, kleren en speelgoed. Nu dus binnenkort ook een bioscoopfilm, we zijn benieuwd!

Er zijn al zoveel aankondigingen van deze film geweest.
Trouwens, ik zie de franchise ook ab-so-luut niet werken in filmformaat.
Plus de grote Dragonball Z rage is allang voorbij, ze hadden er een 5 jaar eerder mee moeten komen aanzetten.

Night Sequel, Voyage & Dragon Ball Z to Shoot in Montreal?

The Gazette (http://www.canada.com/montrealgazette/news/arts/story.html?id=5d8321ec-4d55-40bd-ae6c-742949303ea9) has posted unconfirmed news on the Night at the Museum sequel, Roland Emmerich's Fantastic Voyage (http://www.comingsoon.net/films.php?id=36359) remake and Dragon Ball Z movie at 20th Century Fox:

The 20th Century Fox studio is expected to shoot three big-budget movies in Montreal over the next year; each has a budget of at least $100 million. The films are the Night at the Museum sequel Another Night, Independence Day director Roland Emmerich's remake of the sci-fi flick Fantastic Voyage and a big-screen adaptation of the Japanese manga Dragonball Z.

Ik ben ook benieuwd, maar om die serie in een filmversie te gooien? Wil wel eens zien wat ze maken van de aktiescénes, maar om die personages te zien gespeeld worden door acteurs/actrices? Hoe gaan ze dat haar doen? We zullen zien.

DBZ's Goku, Piccolo Picked

UK, November 14, 2007 - Two major bits of Dragon Ball Z casting news for you: The roles of Goku and Piccolo have been cast.

According to Variety, Justin Chatwin will play Goku, the powerful warrior who protects the Earth from endless hordes of evil creatures hell-bent on dominating the universe and harnessing the power of the titular, mystically powered orbs.

The villainous demon king Piccolo will be played by James Marsters, who made his name playing peroxide-blond bloodsucker Spike in Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel.

Chatwin doesn't have a huge amount on his CV. He had a small role in War of the Worlds and has also popped up in Lost and Smallville.

Apparently, he has already been training with 87Eleven, the stunt performance company behind the action sequences in The Matrix, 300 and The Bourne Supremacy.

Since the end of Buffy meanwhile, Marsters has been playing Professor Milton Fine in Smallville, and will also appear in the rom-com P.S., I Love You with Hilary Swank.

Final Destination helmer James Wong will direct the project, which is due to start shooting later this month.
