Variety reported that Dreamworks would release the Tom Cruise/Steven Spielberg hit Minority Report on December 17 in the form of a two-disc DVD set. Today, we have the full specs for the set, directly from the press release.

The set will be available in 2.35:1 anamorphic widescreen or full screen, and both will feature Dolby Digital and DTS soundtracks. The full list of special features is:

Ik weet niet wanneer de film hier op dvd gereleased gaat worden.Deze film wordt volgende week (26 September) uitgebracht in de NL bioscopen. Het kan een tijdje duren (denk ook aan de rental window van Fox).

En dat te bedenken dat de UK versie (van Fox) eerder (lees: 25 november) op de markt is dan de R1 Dreamworks versie (6). Dat gebeurt niet vaak met nieuwe films.

En heeft de UK versie dezelfde specifacties ald de R1 versie Marco?:confused: Dat is n.n.b. Want er is (nog steeds) geen officiële pres bericht van Fox. Het enige wat bekend is dat het geluid DD 5.1 zal zijn. Het beeld uiteraard 2.35:1 anamorphic widescreen en daar houd het mee op.

Enkele UK webwinkeliers hebben Minority Report opgegeven zodat men kan bestellen (pre-order). Daarbij worden ook andere datums opgegeven dan 25 November. En die zijn 30 November en 2 December (gerucht datums). Het vreemde van 30 November is dat het op een zaterdag valt (oke das op zich niet zo bijzonder). Maar in de UK is het een gewoonte om nieuwe DVD's op een maandag uit te brengen (dat is ook de reden waarom de UK Star Wars Episode II eerder krijgt).

Australië kan ook niet achterblijven. Het is een goede indicatie wat we kunnen verwachten in ons eigen R2 gebiedje, want Australië gebruikt PAL en Minority Report wordt daar uitgebracht door Fox (Australië).

Op 22 Januari 2003 wordt de R4 versie van Fox uitgebracht. Ook deze is een 2 disc versie. De extra's zijn (nagenoeg) gelijk aan die van de R1 Dreamworks versie. Dus ook Minority Report: From Story To Screen, Deconstructing Minority Report, The Stunts Of Minority Report, ILM and Minority Report, Final Report & Minority Report Archives. Alleen de DTS track ontbreekt. Maar misschien komt deze alsnog op de Minority Report DVD. De tijd zal het leren.

Leuk om te weten. Steven (the man himself) heeft zich persoonlijk bemoeit met de "The look, the feel and the content" van Minority Report DVD nog voor dat Steven opnames ging maken van Minority Report. De extra's zijn geproduceerd door Laurent Bouzereau (ook verantwoordelijk voor Back To The Future DVD DVD boxset Making The Trilogy)
