I reported DVDsoontobeevaporated's criminal conduct online to RECOL.ca
(Reporting Economic Crime On-Line) which includes among others the Canadian Police Internet Crime Section and the Mounties! Very Happy Cool
The site:
http://canadaonline.about.com/gi/dyn...contactus.aspx
It takes a moment but I can only advise you to do the same! The more join in the higher the impact will be!
This is what I wrote in the free text field:
"Dear Sirs,
DVDsoon is an online e-tailer for DVDs, CDs, Computer Games and small electronics. They charged my cc at time of the order as per details given (NOT at time of shipment like Amazon e.g.). I ordered a fair deal from them starting Jan. 2005 (~2,500 CAD) and without problems until end June this year, when they discontinued any deliveries to me and hundreds of other people worldwide (=> known from fellow forum members on *****.com and dvdtherapyjapan.com/phpbb2/index.php plus others). In July they increased all product prices and started to change their T&C with retrospective impact on old orders!!!.
Most remarkable NEW terms:
- They deserve the right to cancel any order at any time.
And they cancelled all my pending old orders (placed when none of the NEW T&C were in place!) and have not replied to any of my complaints and requests for a full refund (~6 times over 6 weeks; fax and e-mail)!!
Please check their website and see for yourself:
T&C extract and THIS is the crime I report!!:
"Non-refundable credits
A non-refundable credit will be issued for all product replacement request. The credits available in your account can be applied to your future purchases.
Using non-refundable credits
Since non-refundable credits can be used on products only, all other charges (e.g. shipping fees) will be applied to your chosen method of payment. Also, you may only use your DVDSoon credit for up to 25% of the total of the order.
Non-refundable credits are valid for 1 year after it has been issued."
=> This means, in order to "retrieve" my previous "investment" = the online cc prepayments (~180 CAD), I would have to spend at least 4 times the amount within the next 12 months!!! This is the crime (fraud and theft) I report to you!
Please feel free to contact me at any time. I have all e-mails, screen prints (details of my account with them) and faxes ready to forward to you.
Many thanks for your kind attention!
Best regards,
Michael R."
