ZOO TV On DVD

‘Zoo TV Live From Sydney’ is set for DVD release in September. As well as the legendary live show, now digitally remastered, the new release comes with a bonus DVD of live tracks, mini-documentaries and the inimitable ‘Video Confessional’. Details here.

Filmed at the Football Stadium in Sydney, Australia, in November 1993 - and now only available on something called VHS – the film is directed by David Mallet and produced by Ned O’Hanlon and Rocky Oldham. More on the background to the DVD release in the next few days, meantime, here’s the running order.

Pop komt wel een keer daar is net zoals deze ZOO uitgave al een VHS van verschenen. The Joshua Tree hoop ik ook op maar ik weet niet of ze daar goed matriaal van hebben.
Ik ben overigens wel zeer blij met deze ZOO release, de ZOO tour was een megaspektakel. Ik heb een paar ZOO concerten gezien en de mooiste was in AHOY (Fanclub concert, 15-06-92).

Ik heb U2 nog niet zo gek lang geleden pas "ontdekt". Ik ben dus erg blij met deze release, want ik heb veel mooie verhalen gehoord van deze tour.....
Ik ben ook wel erg benieuwd of en wanneer Pop uitkomt op dvd....

Er komen trouwens weer twee versies een 1 disc en een 2 disc:

Billboard: U2's 'Zoo' Expands For DVD Debut
Originally released on VHS in 1994, U2's "Zoo TV -- Live From Sydney," will make its DVD debut Sept. 19 via Island/UME. The release will be available both as a single-disc version and a double-disc package with a host of extras.
The main body of the concert includes 23 songs and goes heavy on "Zooropa" album tracks such as "Lemon," "Numb," "Dirty Day" and "Daddy's Gonna Pay for Your Crashed Car" but also features a cover of Elvis Presley's "Can't Help Falling in Love" and vintage favorites such as "New Year's Day," "Angel of Harlem" and "Pride (In the Name of Love)." Throughout, the band performs avid a visual spectacle captured by 28 cameras.

The bonus disc features the previously unreleased songs "Trying To Throw Your Arms Around the World," "Desire," "The Fly" and "Even Better Than the Real Thing," three behind-the-scenes documentaries and even a karaoke version of the Edge-sung "Numb."

Ik heb later Pop gezien (die tour), maar deze schijnt toch wat spectaculairder geweest te zijn...

Mwoah ligt eraan.

ZooTV was echt vooruitstrevend in die tijd en nog steeds een megagaaf concert.

POPmart was vooral groter, het grootste scherm ooit gebruikt tijdens een tour destijds, de grote lemon etc alles was "larger then life" tijdens de POPmart tour.

Persoonlijk zou ik hier ook graag een dvd van zien. Maargoed nu hebben wel in iedergeval eindelijk Zootv!
