22nd James Bond Coming May 2, 2008!

It was announced today by producers Michael G. Wilson and Barbara Broccoli, Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Inc. and Sony Pictures Entertainment, that the 22nd James Bond adventure will be released by Columbia Pictures on May 2, 2008 with Daniel Craig reprising the role of the legendary British secret agent.

The story for the latest James Bond film produced by the franchise holders, EON Productions has yet to be announced.

007 guns for drug baron

DANIEL Craig’s next Bond outing will be based on the Ian Fleming short story Risico, The Sun can reveal.

Writers are tweaking the plot so it acts as a direct sequel to current smash Casino Royale.

It will see 007 dispatched to Rome to infiltrate a drug ring flooding Britain with heroin. Bond’s enemy in the book is called Columbo.

A source said: “Bosses were so pleased with how well Casino Royale has been received that work has already commenced on Risico at Pinewood Studios. Some of the same characters will crop up again. But one of the main aspects will be to develop Bond’s complex personality.”

Casino Royale director Martin Campbell is due to take the reins again.

Hij heeft toch een contract voor meerdere films? En waarom zou hij het niet serieus nemen? Lijkt me onzin.

Tja de Sun is nogal een roddelkrant die meestal allerlei feiten verzint als men geen echt nieuws heeft.

Barabra Broccoli had reeds aangegeven dat men nieuwe verhalen zou maken voor de toekomst van de 007 franchise en dat men zich absoluut niet ging wagen aan remakes van reeds bestaand materiaal. Dus hoewel de film best Risico zou kunnen heten wil dat niet zeggen dat het verhaal gebruikt gaat worden.
Overigens was het al bekend dat het script van Bond 22 reeds in de steigers staat, Wade & Purvis waren er reeds mee begonnen toen Haggis hun CR script aan het bijwerken was.
Er zijn nog wel stukken van Fleming uit diens boeken ongebruikt en deze zullen ongetwijfeld gebruikt kunnen worden zoals bijvoorbeeld het materiaal van Flemings YOLT (m.n. de 2de helft van het boek) enzo.

Het is nog veel te vroeg om nu al te speculeren, maar aangezien 007 hot is voelt de rioolbladen zich te roepen om wat te schrijven. Volgens de laatste verhalen zijn de band The Killers de vertolkers van de het volgende lied.

Het komende halfjaar kan men veel suggesties verwachten maar hoeveel waarde die bevatten weten we pas medio 2008.

Bond's New Car is a Jaguar

It is reported that James Bond's famous car is about to undergo a change for the next film. Daniel Craig debuted as 007 in "Casino Royale" and co-starred with the new Aston Martin DBS. So new in fact that the car will only go in to production later this summer when 300 units will made.

But the association with one of Britain's most famous car brands is unlikely to continue in the 22nd film in the series, which is due to start shooting in January 2008. US giant Ford Motor Company, who own Aston Martin, put the company up for sale late last year as part of an attempt to restructure its balance sheet.

This leaves Q Branch in a quandary which car do they issue 00-agents in 2008? Despite the planned Aston Martin sell-off, Ford will still have the exclusive rights for vehicle product placement in the 22nd film due to their $100m three-picture deal which began with "Die Another Day" in 2002.

It is understood that Ford is lining up Jaguar as Bond's next car. Despite the film being in the early stages of script development by regular scribes Neal Purvis and Robert Wade, it has become known that the new Jaguar XF model, also due out in 2008, is being groomed for 007.

Bond-regisseur neemt de trein 08 juni 2007 Martin Campbell, die met GoldenEye én Casino Royale de 007-franchise een herstart gaf, speelt liever met treintjes.
Tenminste, als ze chemisch afval aan boord hebben en met een rotvaart op een catastrofe afdenderen. Dat is in het kort het verhaal van Unstopable. Het komt uit de koker van Mark Bomback, die ook Die Hard 4.0 neerpende. Campbell is met producenten in onderhandeling om de regie te voeren. Dat betekent waarschijnlijk dat de 22ste 007 het met een andere regisseur zal moeten doen.Bron: Preview.nl

Ik vraag me af wat ze willen doen met Rene Mathis?
Wordt ie evil, blijft ie een goodguy... loopt ie over.. was ie al echt overgelopen?

Vond eigenlijk dat zijn rol tot een einde kwam in CR, dus ik ben ontzettend benieuwd wat ze er van gaan maken.

Marc Forster will direct the 22nd James Bond adventure, it was announced by Michael G. Wilson and Barbara Broccoli, producers of the James Bond films, Sony Pictures Entertainment, and Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Studios.

Forster is the acclaimed director of the highly anticipated motion picture The Kite Runner, adapted from Khaled Hosseini's best-selling novel. He also recently directed the comic hit Stranger Than Fiction for Sony Pictures. Previously, Forster directed the award-winning and critically acclaimed films Finding Neverland, which was nominated for seven Academy Awards including Best Picture, and Monster's Ball, for which Halle Berry won a Best Actress Oscar.

Forster will commence work shortly with screenwriter Paul Haggis on a draft of the screenplay by Neil Purvis and Robert Wade.

Daniel Craig will reprise the role of James Bond in the as-yet-untitled Bond 22 production, which follows Casino Royale, the highest-grossing film so far in the most successful franchise in motion picture history.

With nearly $600 million in worldwide box-office receipts, Casino Royale was also regarded by critics as one of the best Bond films yet. Bond 22 will begin filming at Pinewood Studios, London, in December 2007. Columbia Pictures will release the film worldwide on November 7, 2008.

Wilson and Broccoli said, "We are delighted that Marc Forster, with his exceptional talent and unique vision, has agreed to direct our next James Bond film."

Foster heeft wel bewezen een talentvolle regisseur te zijn, maar echt uniek vind ik 'm niet. Hoe dan ook denk ik dat hij wel de capaciteiten heeft om hier wat van te maken.

Van mij mag er wel eens een eind aan komen aan al die bond films. altijd weer van die middelmatige films met hetzelfde concept. Bond is over en uit. Zelfs het laatse deel was middelmatig. We hebben nu toch wel genoeg bond gezien....Vroeger was het misschien nog leuk maar in deze tijd ben ik Bond echt helemaal zat. Er kan toch wel wat beters verzonnen worden als een nieuwe bond film die altijd voorspelbaar is

Er komen zoveel boutfilms uit tegenwoordig, waarom zou James Bond dan niet mogen blijven bestaan. De laatste James Bond film "Casino Royale" is zeer sterk, beste Bond in jaren.

Ben het op zich wel met je eens, maar niet met je mening over het laatste deel, die was enorm verfrissend, gewoon een heel erg sterke actiefilm.
