Ben zeer benieuwd!

The curtain is closing on Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip.
The expensive NBC drama about a fictional late-night comedy show, from West Wing creator Aaron Sorkin, was the most buzzed-about new show of the fall season, but it hasn't lived up to the hype. The show's premiere was mediocre, earning 13.4 million viewers and coming in second in its time slot against CSI: Miami, and the series has since dipped to third in its time period, with 7.7 million viewers.
Studio 60's low numbers are made worse by the fact that its lead-in is new hit Heroes, the highest-rated new show of the fall season. Heroes earned 14.3 million viewers last week.
The peacock ordered three more scripts for Studio 60, but that doesn't mean they will make it to air. Fox News' Roger Friedman says cast members are already telling friends the show is ending.
NBC has had a tough time this season, with several high-profile expensive shows failing to draw big ratings. Production on the action drama Kidnapped was wrapped and the show was moved from Wednesdays to Saturdays to run out its course, and football drama Friday Night Lights has languished in its Tuesday night spot despite receiving the best reviews of any show this season.
Studio 60's fate is ironic because one of the main storylines is the fight of network head Jordan McDeere (Amanda Peet) to have high-quality programming on the fictional NBS network. In the last episode, McDeere was taking the heat for passing on a lowbrow reality show, while at the same time, in the real world, NBC president Kevin Reilly said that his network planned on devoting the 8 p.m. prime-time hour to cheaper fare such as reality and game shows and less to sitcoms and dramas.

NBC says it still likes Aaron Sorkin drama.
The reports of Studio 60's demise have been greatly exaggerated.
Yesterday, rumors swirled that NBC's expensive drama Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip was headed for the scrap heap. Despite the fact that NBC had ordered three more episodes of the show, cast members were reportedly telling friends the show was near its end.
Now, NBC has refuted that story, saying the show is still profitable and that the network will give it at least a little while longer. Media Daily News says NBC is frustrated by the decline of Studio 60's ratings, but that the show brings in affluent viewers that advertisers care about. Therefore, the 7.7 million viewers the show earned last week is OK--for now.
Studio 60 is the brainchild of Aaron Sorkin, creator of West Wing. The show tells the story of a Saturday Night Live-type late-night sketch comedy show. The premiere was solid, with 12 million viewers, but the show has slipped in successive weeks. Last night, NBC ran an episode of Friday Night Lights in Studio 60's time slot, and Lights scored more viewers than Studio.
Despite network assurances, if Studio 60 continues to slip, it may face cancellation. NBC quickly wrapped production on Kidnapped after it produced lower-than-expected results for the network.
Architect: Denial is the most predictable of all human responses.

30 rock is allesinds veel grappiger

Of komt ze elke week even langs om haar mening over this weeks show te geven?

Dus die rijke kijkers zijn waarschijnlijk belangrijk geweest.LOS ANGELES -- Its ratings aren't what NBC would hope, but the network has nonetheless picked up its first-year drama "Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip" for a full season.
"I am pleased to show our support for this outstanding and ambitious effort from executive producers Aaron Sorkin and Thomas Schlamme," NBC Entertainment chief Kevin Reilly says. "From the start, they have delivered the superb show that we wanted. The critical support has been rock-solid and there is a passionate core audience. We can't wait for what's going to come in the remainder of the season."
Although Reilly has been saying he'd be patient with his new shows virtually since he announced the network's schedule in May, the "Studio 60" pickup is still a mild surprise. Only a couple weeks ago, there were rumors that the show, a backstage look at a long-running, "Saturday Night Live"-like comedy series, was on the verge of cancellation. That talk abruptly changed in the past few days, when whispers of a possible pickup started.
The series, which stars Matthew Perry, Bradley Whitford, Amanda Peet, D.L. Hughley and Sarah Paulson, is averaging about 9.8 million viewers per week and a 4.0 rating in the key adults 18-49 demographic. Those numbers include an audience of 13 million-plus viewers for the premiere; more recently the show has been drawing in the neighborhood of 8 million people.
NBC notes, however, that "Studio 60's" ratings have ticked up in each of its last two telecasts. The series also has one of the highest concentrations of "upscale" viewers (those with incomes of $75,000 or more) of any show on television.
"Studio 60" joins "Heroes," its lead-in on Monday nights, in getting a full-season order from NBC. The network has already pulled the plug on "Kidnapped" (which is playing out its remaining episodes online) and taken "Twenty Good Years" off the schedule, and hasn't yet decided the fate of "Friday Night Lights" and "30 Rock."
