Universal Studios Home Video have announced four titles as Wave 1 of a new Universal Cinema Classics line. Due on 6th February 2006 priced at $14.98 SRP each are: All Quiet on the Western Front (1930), Arabian Nights (1942), Going My Way (1944) and The Heiress (1949).
All titles are presented in 1.33:1 Full Frame with English DD2.0 Mono audio and optional English SDH and French subtitles. Extras include introductions and original trailers.

Universal Studios Home Video have announced the Region 1 DVD release of four titles as Wave 2 of their Universal Cinema Classics line. Due on 22nd May 2007 priced at $14.98 SRP each are: No Man of Her Own, Scarface (1932), So Proudly We Hail and Unconquered.
All titles will be digitally remastered for optimum picture quality and include an exclusive introduction by Turner Classic Movies Host Robert Osborne. The films are presented in 1.33:1 Full Frame with English DD2.0 Mono audio and optional English SDH and French subtitles. Extras include introductions and original trailers, with Scarface (1932) also boasting an alternate ending.

Ik heb de "All Quiet on the Western Front" R2NL in bezit, maar ik dacht dat er misschien ergens een review was die beide vergeleek. Niet dus. Daarom ben ik een paar frames die ervan op DVDBeaver staan exàct gaan vergelijken. Er was geen enkel verschil in scherpte en dergelijke te merken.
De gemiddelde bitrate van de R2NL is trouwens 8,6(!) Mb/s, tegenover dus 7,41 Mb/s bij de R1. Hierbij gaat het ook om de door het Library of Congress gerestaureerde versie.
Dat wordt geen update voor me

Scarface is toch een Universal Cinema Classic? Of begrijp ik je vraag verkeerd. Ik heb het dus wel degelijk over de versie uit '32.Ik had het voor alle duidelijkheid over de Universal Cinema Classics.
