Warner Home Video have announced the Region 1 DVD release of 300 on 31st July 2007. The epic graphic novel by Frank Miller (Sin City) assaults the screen with the blood, thunder and awe of its ferocious visual style faithfully recreated in an intense blend of live-action and CGI animation. Retelling the ancient Battle of Thermopylae, it depicts the titanic clash in which King Leonidas (Gerard Butler) and 300 Spartans fought to the death against Xerxes (Rodrigo Santoro) and his massive Persian army.

Available in separate Widescreen and Full Screen single-disc ($28.98 SRP) and Widescreen two-disc ($34.99 SRP) editions features are detailed below…

Released on HD DVD Combo (HD30/DVD9, $39.99 SRP) and Blu-ray Disc (BD50, $34.99 SRP) the film is presented in 1080P Widescreen with English, French and Spanish 5.1 Surround (Dolby Digital on Blu-ray Disc, Dolby Digital Plus on HD DVD), English Dolby True HD 5.1 Surround and optional English, French and Spanish subtitles.

Extras are TBC, but likely to match the 2-Disc Special Edition DVD release.

Staat ook op ezydvd in een mooie Exclusive Tin Set (met of zonder Collectors Art Booklet) in pre-order te bestellen. Staat wel gemeld als regio 4, maar heb begin dit jaar de Tin set van Kingdom of Hearts ginds gekocht, en alhoewel die ook als R4 gemeld werd, is deze ook R2 compatibel. Misschien hebben we met deze ook zoveel geluk. Toch maar effe afwachten. (beschikbaar vanaf 08 augustus).

't Is een regio 3 steelcase, en er staat (in vette letters) bij 'Very limited edition'.. Hoe limited zal deze zijn? En zal het een steelCASE of een steelBOOK zijn?

Weet iemand meer over deze editie te vinden? (Ik kan er niks verder over vinden)

In Nederland komt er ook een SE in steelbook versie uit. Volgens mij is dit dezelfde......

Deze komt er overigens wel in als HDDVD, leuk demonstratiespul!
Warner Home Video is planning to push the boundaries of high-def technology with the July HD DVD release of '300,' which is set to include the world's first "blue screen" picture-in-picture commentary.
Warner first announced '300' in early May for a July 31 release on both Blu-ray and HD DVD, with initial specs including an In-Movie Experience video commentary track (exclusive to the HD DVD version).

Though IME tracks are common to many HD DVD releases, '300' will be unique in that it will include what Warner is dubbing the first-ever "Blue-Screen Picture-in-Picture Version." Throughout the track, director Zack Snyder will present the pre-CGI-enhanced version to the finished film, allowing viewers to compare the entire movie in both rough and completed forms.

The HD DVD will include several other additional exclusive features, including the "Vengeance and Valor" interactive game, a "Pick Your Favorite Scenes" function allowing users to assemble clips and create a unique montage, as well as other web-enabled downloadable features to be announced.

The remaining specs will be identical to both the HD DVD and Blu-ray versions of '300,' including standard audio commentary, multiple featurettes, a suite of "Webisodes" and deleted scenes.

Ik ben een fan van extra's. Vind het gewoon erg interessant, maar niet tijdens de film. Als ik een film nogmaals bekijk, heb ik echt geen zin om naar een commentaar-track te luisteren, of naar zoiets als hierboven te kijken.

Maakt mij daarom ook niet uit dat de bluray standaard nog niet af was/is en er geen pip gebruikt kan worden.

De normale extra's en de covers zien er goed uit.

heb zelf de regio 3 2 disc SE besteld. Bij cdwow is deze met de kortingslink van 2 euro 12,99 euro!

De movie experience is de leukste manier om een film nog eens te kijken.......

Is dit nou de enige grote extra bij de Tin Steelbook Limited edition? Kan verder nl niks extra's vinden naast de normale extra's.

Edit: Op CD-Wow staat 300 in een tin ala Band of Brothers, klopt dit? Of is dit in werkelijkheid gelijk aan een normale steelbook.

Is dit nou de enige grote extra bij de Tin Steelbook Limited edition? Kan verder nl niks extra's vinden naast de normale extra's.

Volgens mij wel, ik neem aan dat deze specifieke steelbookverpakking er na verloop van tijd uitgaat en alleen de keepcase te krijgen is. Deze steelbook vind ik dan weer erg fraai (vergeleken met andere steelbooks van 300) omdat er voor en achter geen logo's, bout-citaten en andere specs op staan
