De formaat oorlog is verre van beslist! Of dit nu ten goede komt van de consument is een zeer grote vraag. velen zullen hierdoor nog voor een dvd kiezen i.p.v. een hd variant en hierdoor stagneert de ontwikkeling en de prijsdaling van producten.

Aan de andere kant, concurrentie houdt producenten scherp.

Nadat paramount naar het hd-dvd camp is overgehaald, gaat ACER blu-ray pc' s leveren.
De grootste ditributeur van CHINA schaart zich nu ook achter het blu-ray consortium.

Op zich zegt dit niet veel, behalve dat Acer toetreedt tot de BDA en daarmee het recht krijgt om blu ray drives te produceren. Ik mis in de publicatie de mededeling dat Acer exclusief pc's met blu ray drives gaat maken.

Dit lijkt mij wel duidelijk: 300gb schijfjes van blu-ray voor opslag of backup tegen max. 45 gb(moeten eerst nog ontwikkeld worden door het hd-dvd camp) van hd-dvd!8)

Voor de PC IS blu-ray een beduidend betere keuze. Al zou ik liever zien dat de ontwikkeling van de holodisk wat sneller zou gaan.

Acer wet dus op beide paarden. Niet zo van belang daar acer pc's bouwt en blu-ray voor opslag een logischer keuze is dan hd-dvd. Zal wel een beetje loslopen.

Dit alles zorgt er wel voor dat de strijdt nog lang niet gestreden is.8)

Vrij nieuw nieuws toch wel, de berichten zijn gedateerd op 7 en 6 september 2007. De cijfers hebben betrekking op zo te zien het eerste kwartaal van 2007. Het geeft alleen nog maar aan dat de nieuwe HD-markt zich nog volledig moet bewijzen.
