Latino Review meldt dat 'men' bij Disney denkt aan een vervanger voor Harrison Ford voor een volgende film. Dat zou gebeuren als er niet binnen afzienbare tijd een begin wordt gemaakt met de opnames van de volgende Indy. Eerder liet Disney al weten dat het nog zo'n twee of drie jaar duurt voordat we eventueel een volgende film in de reeks te zien krijgen. Ford zou dan zo'n 74 a 75 jaar oud zijn.

Als het te lang gaat duren, dan is Bradley Cooper in beeld als vervanger. Het zou dan overigens niet zo zeer een reboot inhouden, maar meer een James Bond-achtige constructie waarbij verschillende acteurs de rol vertolken zonder per se met een schone lei te beginnen.
Overigens meldt het artikel dat Frank Darabont een idee heeft geopperd voor een nieuw verhaal.

Allemaal onbevestigd en zelfs als het klopt moet nog maar blijken of Disney dit voornemen ook echt doorzet. Maar Latino Review heeft een redelijke 'track record' als het op geruchten aankomt. En het ligt voor de hand dat Disney haar investering wil verzilveren door nieuwe films te maken. Waar Ford nu toch echt te oud voor is.

Ach waarom niet. Harrison Ford deed het prima natuurlijk. Maar het is niet gezegd dat een ander het niet kan. Maar beter maken ze er een ander personage van. Misschien iemand die Indy dan weer als grote voorbeeld heeft oid. Krijg je ook niet dat eeuwige gevergelijk. Als het maar niet Shia "nononononononono" LeBeouf wordt. Al was ie in Indy 4 al een stuk beter dan in de hele Transformers serie,

Beter dat ze weer eens iets nieuws maken dan elke keer zeggen dat Spielberg bezig is met het verhaal en er uiteindelijk niks voorkomt..Het zou leuk zijn als Bradley een oudere shia zou spelen en Bradly en Ford hetzelfde formule als in The Last Crusade zouden toepassen..Oude Indy en jonge Indy..op avontuur..

Beter om de stekker er uit te trekken, denk ik dan. Of je maakt Idiana Jones met Ford als hoofdfiguur of je stopt met geld te sleuren uit die naam en maakt gewoon iets nieuws. Bradley Cooper als opvolger .... Mag er niet aan denken. Er zijn nu eenmaal iconische personages die onlosmakelijk verbonden zijn met hun vertolker, Dr. Jones is daar één van.

This is something fans have been wondering about since Guardians of the Galaxy debuted, but now it's more than just speculation:Deadline is reporting that Disney "has set its sights" on Chris Prattto play Indiana Jones in a "revival" of the franchise. Whether that means a complete reboot or a sequel with flashbacks (to allowHarrison Ford one more appearance as the famed archaeologist) remains to be seen, and the outlet cautions that things are still very early in the process right now.
Pratt, who became famous for his hilarious work on Parks and Recreation, has become a huge star in the wake of Guardians of the Galaxy. He has Jurassic World coming up this summer, and has lined up a Guardians sequel and The Magnificent Seven remake opposite Denzel Washington. Fans have already been teased with the idea of Pratt as Indy when a fan-made Photoshop piece made the rounds last year, and it appears that Disney saw how well everyone took to the concept and is now eyeing the young actor to follow in Ford's footsteps.
We really don't even need to have the conversation about whether or not Disney should recast Indiana Jones, because it's inevitable. The studio spent a lot of money for Lucasfilm and all of the properties that came with it, and if you think that they're going to leave money on the table when they could be making boatloads of it with a new Indiana Jones movie, you're delusional. We've already seen how things turned out when Paramount brought Ford back for a new adventure a few years ago (ugh), so hopefully Disney goes the Star Wars route on this and gives the property to a young filmmaker who was influenced by the original movies and allows him or her to play in that sandbox. If someone has to replace Ford as Indy, Pratt seems like as good a choice as any.

New Indiana Jones Film Coming Up

Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy has confirmed that a new Indiana Jones film will be produced to relaunch the franchise. The confirmation was made in an interview conducted for Vanity Fair.

There are no early details or temporary theatrical dates for the upcoming film.

Here's the relevant quote from the Vanity Fair interview:

"In buying the company, Disney also got rights, for better or worse, to less-storied Lucasfilm properties, among them Willow and Radioland Murders. A bigger prize is the Indiana Jones franchise. Kennedy confirmed rumors that another Indy movie "will one day be made inside this company. When it will happen, I'm not quite sure. We haven't started working on a script yet, but we are talking about it."
