ik hem in films als Alfie, Cold Mountain, Road to Perdition en The Talented Mr. Ripley of niet goed acteren of niet op zijn plaats...

In Road of Perdition vond ik hem wel goed...zette toch een apart type huurmoordenaar neer vind ik, maar zoals je zei: meningen kunnen verschillen.

Ik ben volgens mij de enige die Russel Crowe echt niets aan vind. Als ik die gozer al zie ga ik zappen. Voor de rest word ik wel enthousiat!

The Insider nooit gezien? Mijn inziens toch zijn beste prestatie tot op heden, mjah ik heb dat ook wel hoor dat ik sommige acteurs domweg niet kan/kon uitstaan.

En verder ben ik uiteraard erg benieuwd wat Ridley Scott er voor avontuur van gaat maken

Hoop dan verder wel dat het smoelwerk van Jude Law buiten beeld blijft, die kan ik dus meestal niet uitstaan, maar vaak is dat meer een kwestie van verkeerd gecast (Enemy at the gates bijvoorbeeld ) dan het acteerwerk.

De productie van Ridley Scotts actie-drama Nottingham - over de driehoeksverhouding tussen volksheld Robin Hood, Maid Marion en de sheriff van Nottingham (Russell Crowe) - is voor onbepaalde tijd uitgesteld. Dat meldt The Hollywood Reporter.

Volgens filmmaatschappij Universal Studios hebben drie factoren een rol gespeeld in de beslissing om de productie op te schorten: bezorgdheid over het scenario, logistieke problemen met de filmlocatie, en de huidige onrust op de arbeidsmarkt door de impasse tussen de producenten en de Screen Actors Guild.

Een nieuwe startdatum wordt wellicht pas volgend jaar bekendgemaakt. Russell Crowe en regisseur Ridley Scott zouden volgens de persmededeling aan het project verbonden blijven.

Het zal wel niet de enige film zijn die door de mogelijke staking van de acteurs zal worden uitgesteld of misschien zelfs afgelast.

There have been some interesting developments on Ridley Scott's proposed Robin Hood project Nottingham out of the L.A. junket for his upcoming political thriller Body of Lies. The most interesting one being the claim that Russell Crowe will not only be playing the Sheriff of Nottingham as reported earlier, but he'll ALSO play the part of Robin Hood.

During a press conference, Crowe was asked about the project and its progress since back in July, it was reported (right here) that the project had been delayed despite Universal having already claimed November 9, 2009 as its release date.

"No, we haven't done that yet," Crowe responded to the reporter's query. "It's one of those things where we're taking our time with. You don't want to be doing Robin Hood unless you're going to be doing it really f*cking well. It's got to be the best one ever done otherwise you should do something else."

He also went on to say that he would not be wearing tights because according to their research, they hadn't been invented and wouldn't be for 300 years. Crowe confirmed that he'd be starring in the movie opposite Sienna Miller, presumably as Maid Marian.

Now that's all well and good, but the actual news would come later when MTV's Movie Blog spoke to director Ridley Scott and he claimed Crowe would actually be playing two roles including that of Robin Hood:

"He's playing both!" (he said) exclusively to MTV News during an interview for his new film "Body of Lies," which co-stars Crowe. While Scott held additional details close to his chest — saying they would take too long to describe — he did exclaim that Crowe's dual roles would be "a good old clever adjustment of characters. One becomes the other. It changes."

What that means is open for conjecture--it could mean that Robin Hood *was* originally the Sheriff of Nottingham, rather than the presumption that he'll be playing a dual role and be on-screen with himself--but it does seem clear that Crowe is playing Robin Hood in the movie. At one point, it was rumored that either Christian Bale or Sam Riley would be playing the part of Robin Hood, but those rumors seem to have proven unfounded by Scott's statement.

Er duiken al een aantal problemen op voor men begonnen is met filmen, en vaak wordt daarbij de naam van Russell Crowe genoemd als hoofdoorzaak. Sienna Miller stapt alvast op.

British actress Sienna Miller has quit upcoming movie Nottingham amid rumours of a rift with co-star Russell Crowe.
The pair was due to star in the new Ridley Scott-directed picture, which tells the story of mythical English outlaw Robin Hood.
Crowe is to tackle the title role, and that of the villainous Sheriff of Nottingham, while Miller was due to play love interest, Maid Marian.
But the Alfie star has now dropped out of the picture, which is due to begin filming in England in March, amid growing speculation about tension between Crowe and the rest of the team.
A source tells New York Post gossip column PageSix, "Originally the movie was about a love triangle between Maid Marian, Robin Hood and the Sheriff of Nottingham. It is now all about Russell's Robin Hood. Literally, 40 pages of script were redone and now are just devoted to him and his massive ego. It's amazing."
A representative for Miller confirmed she has quit the picture, insisting the actress is "fine and about to sign on to two other movies."
And a spokesperson for the movie denied "these rumours" of tensions amongst the cast, saying, "Nottingham is moving ahead with Russell Crowe and Ridley Scott."

EDIT: Russell Crowe heeft ook wel wat een reputatie als ruziemaker, en er zou ook heel wat te doen zijn over zijn gewicht. De kilo's die hij is aangekomen voor Body Of Lies gaan er blijkbaar niet meer zo makkelijk af

Kunnen ze een bestaand verhaal nu niet eens met rust laten?! Moet iedereen nu zijn eigen draai eraan geven?!

Robin hood, voor mij maar drie versies dan, de oude engelse serie, "robin hood, prince of thieves" en de oude versie met Errol Flynn.

Jammer dat sienna miller eruit stapt, lekker ding! Russel crow zal wel de niet te harden super star uithangen!

Nottingham wordt Robin Hood

In een gesprek met MTV heeft regisseur Ridley Scott (Gladiator) enkele grote veranderingen aangekondigd met betrekking tot zijn Robin Hood-project.

De meest opmerkelijke verandering is dat de film dan toch niet onder de eerder aangekondigde titel Nottingham zal verschijnen. Scott: "Ik denk dat we het gewoon 'Robin Hood' gaan noemen. Over bijna twee maanden gaan we van start."

De regisseur drukte ook de geruchten de kop in dat Russell Crowe meerdere rollen zou gaan vertolken. Het was aanvankelijk de bedoeling dat Crowe zowel Robin Hood als de sheriff van Nottingham gestalte zou geven, maar nu zou hij enkel nog het titelpersonage spelen. Het is nog niet duidelijk wie dan wel in de huid van Hoods aartsvijand zal kruipen.

Verder werd ook bekendgemaakt dat de film zal openen met een historische achtergrondschets, wanneer Robin Hood als boogschutter dient in het leger van koning Richard Leeuwenhart.

Ik vraag me af of het nog goed gaat komen met dit project, het heeft er langzamerhand toch wel veel van weg dat ze te snel in productie zijn gegaan en zichzelf in de problemen hebben gewerkt. Ook spijtig dat ze de titel veranderen, de vorige had iets maar Robin Hood zo heten al 20 films over dit verhaal, een beetje nietszeggend.

Jammer dat Crowe Hood gaat spelen. Vond de rol van de Sheriff passender voor Crowe. Vind wel fijn te weten dat Crowe niet beide rollen gaat doen

Mee eens, ben wel benieuwd. Vond de vorige Robin Hood ook al tof,maar Ridley Scott is toch wel 1 van mijn favo regiseurs dus ben zeer beineuwd of deze film ook epische veldslagen zal hebben

Volgens geruchten zal Cate Blanchett de rol van Made Marion vertolken in plaats van Sienna Miller. Hopelijk is dit waar want dat zou echt fantastisch nieuws zijn.

It looks like searching for Sienna Miller's replacement for the ever-delayed Nottingham will not delay things much longer – because Mark Strong says that a replacement has been found. Making the announcement with a fair amount of certainty, Strong told the Telegraph at the at the London Film Critics' Circle Awards: "I think Cate Blanchett is set to take the Maid Marian part."
Strong should know, as he himself is signed on to play Sir Guy of Gisborne in the production, the right-hand man to Body of Lies co-star Russell Crowe who takes on the malevolent mantle of Sheriff of Nottingham.
Sir Ridley of Scott's production has been delayed repeatedly due to script, weather and casting issues – with the colour of leaves even cited as one factor. However, now that Miller has moved on to pastures new, news of Blanchett's addition could mean that the project is taking shape. Strong at least thinks that the ethereal Australian actress' presence could adjust the tone of the film, saying: "She is a wonderful actress and it would make it a much classier film if she was in it."

Op IMDb staat Cate Blanchett nu ook bij de cast als 'rumoured'.

Heeft inderdaad een stoerdere uitstraling en dat is positief.

Dat was dus precies wat ik dacht toen ik die foto zag.

Kweet niet. Ik vind het Robin Hood verhaal altijd heel erg tof, dus zal deze ook zeker gaan zien, maar ik moet nog wel zien of ik de Crowe versie van Hood leuk ga vinden

Het lijkt idd alsof het een bewerkte foto is van Gladiator. Kijk er wel naar uit. De Scott + Crowe team-up hebben me nog niet teleurgesteld.
