Een van de allerbeste SF Series ooit komt op DVD in de herfst .

Good news today for you Babylon 5 fans. News that the series was in production for DVD leaked via the rec.arts.sf.tv.babylon5.moderated newsgroup group, so creator/executive producer J. Michael Straczynski this weekend confirmed that Warner and company are working on the first season of the TV series for DVD release this fall. Here's a quote:

"Season One will be out in a boxed set this Fall, and they're going to be including at minimum two commentaries from me, probably on Signs and Portents and Chrysalis (it's a matter of how much time and energy I can give to it given that there's no fees involved and I'm in the midst of Jeremiah), and if possible, Babylon Squared, maybe Sky Full of Stars. They'd also like to film an on-camera intro by me (but I guess folks will buy it anyway, even with that particular horror included). They're pulling together a lot of stuff on this release so that there are plenty of extras this time around, now that the value of the DVDs has been shown by the first release."

Eindelijk weer een zeer goeie TV serie op DVD.

The R2 Project had naast deze R1 nieuws ook het volgende te vertellen:

Many thanks to Warners Bros' PR for confirming that season 1 of Babylon 5" is on the schedule to be released in the UK on the 14th of October here in the U.K. Of course that date could change but this is great news for fans of the series. An other industry insider tells us that it will be a 6 disk box set.

Ik wacht wel ff af, wat het gaat worden (maw kosten).

Muziek in deze reeks is van Christopher Franke. Deze componist haalt niet altijd zijn beste niveau volgens mij. Maar wie de televisiereeks 'Raven' en de film 'Night Of The Running Man' gezien heeft, zal het waarschijnlijk met mij eens zijn dat deze man tot schitterende dingen in staat is.

Las net op DVD-Home dat Babylon 5 S1 boxset ook in Nederland komt. Vooral deze zin springt eruit

In Nederland komt hij uit op 16 oktober! (bevestigd door Warner)

Jammer alleen dat de pilot, The Gathering, er niet bij zit (voor zover ik kan nagaan).

Er is een R1 DVD met The Gathering en In the Beginning, maar de R2 release bevat alleen In the Beginning.

Volgens mij is The Gathering niet als R2 verschenen, of heb ik het mis?

The Gathering R2 is verkrijgbaar in de UK.

The Gathering is later gemaakt dan S1. Dat niet alleen, hij is al een tijdje gewoon in de winkel bij FRS voor maar €15.99.

Ah, dat verklaard het. Ik lig bij onze FRS vestiging geregeld overhoop met het personeel (klantvriendelijkheid e.d)

, dus daar kom ik vrijwillig niet vaak.

Trouwens, nog 1 ding, The Gathering mag je eigenlijk NIET zien voor het seizoen waar RTL5 nu is want daar wordt Lono keizer en in The Gathering worden dingetjes verteld die je dan pas krijgt te horen. Anders verpest je het voor jezelf

Ben je nu niet in de war met "The Beginning" en "The Gathering"?
The Gathering is de pilot van B5.
The Beginning is de eerste TV-film van B5. Hierin is Londo Keizer.

Weet iemand waarom The Gathering in NL is uitgesteld? Wordt het uberhaupt nog uitgebracht?
