Op Amazon komt binnenkort CARS uit. Double dip?

Dat zal waarschijnlijk een giftset worden.
Bestaande BD met de DVD en/of Digital Copy in een giftset met 2 modelautootjes.

Volgens mij bedoelt ie de Amerikaanse Amazon. Daar staat een nieuwe Blu-Ray release van Cars voor 10 november. Nog geen details en afbeeldingen.

De datum op Amazon UK is inmiddels veranderd naar april 2010. Dus verwacht rond die datum.
Helaas geen september dus.

Dat is nu eerst Dumbo en daarna Beauty and the Beast. Fantasia is geschrapt als Platinum Edition.

August 17, 2009 - We've just gotten news from Disney that the next animated classic slated for Platinum Edition treatment after Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs is Dumbo, scheduled for release next February. Fantasia and Fantasia 2000 had previously been announced, while others anticipated an Alice in Wonderland re-release to tie in with Tim Burton's mixed-medium filming coming to theaters next spring. Dumbo was not one of the ten best-selling titles originally chosen for the Platinum collection (which is supposed to be branded "Diamond" starting with Snow White), nor was it one of the four bonus titles admitted in 2003. Ik vind het ook prima. Eerlijk gezegd heb ik ook meer met Dumbo dan Fantasia. Vind ze beiden prima voor op BR maar Dumbo is nog meer jeugdsentiment voor me

Er komt een Gift Set van Cars volgens Hidefdigest.

Disney/Buena Vista is planning a Blu-ray double dip for the hit Pixar animated feature 'Cars' in November.
'Cars: Ultimate Cars Giftset' will be available in stores on November 10.

The box set will give the Pixar film the Blu-ray BD/DVD Combo treatment and will include Lightning McQueen and Mater toy cars.
The transfer and supplements should be the same, the only difference will be a new DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 soundtrack instead of the old PCM track.
Suggested list price has been set at $49.99.

Dat zou vooral mooi zijn voor het geluid, omdat je dan DTS-HD MA 24 bit hebt, i.p.v. Dolby TrueHD 16 bit. (De oude USA uitgave heeft al 24 bit PCM geluid)

Ik kan er niet meer goed aan uit...
Je hebt nu de Platinum Editions en de Diamond Edition. De Platinum Editions bevatten de best verkochte films maar waarom wordt Snow White dan uitgeven in een Diamond Edition ?

Gewoon een stukje marketing. Wat eerst Platinum was, wordt nu - "nog beter" - uitgebracht in Diamond. Daarbij de kanttekening dat er klaarblijkelijk enkele titels uit deze "best verkopende" reeks zijn veranderd. Zo staat Aladdin niet meer in het lijstje van 2011 tot 2015. Wel zijn Fantasia en Beauty en the Beast bevestigd. Het wordt - in ieder geval niet in Diamond - Dumbo, maar gewoon Fantasia.

For 2010, 'Beauty and the Beast' and 'Fantasia and Fantasia 2000' have been scheduled for Blu-ray release. The remainder of the titles - 'The Lion King', 'Bambi', 'Cinderella', 'Lady and the Tramp', 'The Little Mermaid', 'Peter Pan', 'The Jungle Book', and '101 Dalmatians' - will be released sometime in 2011-2015, completed by re-releases of 'Sleeping Beauty' and 'Pinocchio' as part of the Diamond Collection.

Disney promises that each title will be remastered from the original negative (when available) for a pristine 1080p picture and stunning 7.1 soundtrack. As with all special Disney releases, these titles will only be available for a limited time.

Waaat !?!? Gaan ze nu ook nog eens Sleeping Beauty en Pinocchio vervangen gewoon met een ander hoesje ? Hoe belachelijk is dat niet. Van mij mocht gewoon de platinum collectie verder gaan hoor...

Dat is inderdaad echt niet cool. Ik had gewild dat ze eens een keus maakten voor ze dingen gaan uitbrengen. Sleeping Beauty zat in een schitterend dun BR-doosje en toch 2 disc, en Pinokkio - 1 release erna - zat alweer in een ander doosje. En nu dus ineens weer die nummers achterop. Ben groot disneyfan maar hier word ik echt een beetje ziek van.
