the robe echt een geweldige film maar de dvd release ...

Ik heb hem gisteren binnen gekregen en gelijk gekeken wat was het een geweldige film. Vooral het acteren van richard burton.
In cleoptra vond ik hem niet zo geweldig maar in deze film echt een topprestatie.


Maar ik vind dat er veel grain in zit(dat zijn toch witte spiksels).En in sommige overgang naar een andere scene heeft mijn dvd moeite. Dan staat het beeld een minuut stil.

Ik vind het erg goed van fox dat ze deze film op dvd hebben uitgebracht maar ze hadden toch wel wat meer werk in deze film mogen steken vind ik.

Wow, zou dit een record zijn? Een 4 jaar oude thread uppen?

Ik kocht hem afgelopen week en bekeek hem vandaag en de beeldkwaliteit viel me ook niet mee. Erg jammer want niet alleen is het een erg goeie film maar het is ook nog eens de allereerste film die ooit in Cinemascope is uitgebracht. En voor alle duidelijkheid: met de introductie van Cinemascope (middels The Robe) werd widescreen het gangbare formaat voor bioscoopfilms. Een erg baanbrekende film dus, en je zou verwachten dat zo'n film wel wat meer verdiend dan een bare-bones release.

In vervolg op m'n vorige posting: deze film gaat heel binnenkort een nieuwe release krijgen op Blu-ray met alle extra's die hij verdient.

The first film released in CinemaScope, the Biblical epic The Robe starring Richard Burton, will be granted a lavish special edition Blu-ray Disc release by Fox Home Entertainment on March 17.

Fox, the Academy Film Archive and The Film Foundation spent over a year-and-a-half restoring The Robe. Martin Scorsese, founder of The Film Foundation, donated his personal film print of The Robe which was used to create the newly restored transfer on this Blu-ray Disc release.

Fox will present The Robe on Blu-ray in its CinemaScope 2.55:1 aspect ratio with 1080p resolution and a choice between 5.1 DTS-HD Master Audio and 4.0 Dolby Digital audio.

Over two hours of new bonus features are exclusive to Blu-ray including a high-definition introduction by Martin Scorsese (the DVD includes the intro in standard definition). The extensive list of shared and exclusive extras is as follows.

Dit wordt zeker een blauwe aanschaf

Er mogen meer van zulke historische spektakelfilms op HD verschijnen. Laatst nog de Blu-ray van Quo Vadis bekeken. Prachtig, alleen is het jammer dat ze CinemaScope niet eerder hadden uitgevonden voor die film.
