Duitsland is een EU-land. Dus geen douanekosten (wel een andere BTW-voet, voor België is dat 21 % in plaats van 19%, voor Nederland ken ik het precieze tarief niet). In de praktijk komen er dus een paar cent bij.

Ik vind het persoonlijk erg tegenvallen! Heb er nu 14 afleveringen van gezien, kan geen vergelijk maken met de dvd want die heb ik niet meer maar had er toch meer van verwacht, gezien de prijs die het origineel was. De "live" scenes zien er over het algemeen goed uit, nog regelmatig vervuiling aan de zijkanten van het scherm maar de SFX is verre van oké. Misschien had ik wel teveel verwacht maar was initieel toch 65 euro, heb ik er ook voor betaald en voor die prijs, valt het tegen,

Wel als je vindt dat het tegenvalt moet je maar vergelijken met de wazige drab DVD's. Die bekijk ik nooit meer. En pas op, dan heb ik de DVD's upconverted bekeken he.
De BR's zijn veel meer gedetailleerd voor de "live" scenes en de kleuren zijn stukken beter. Bij het geluid niet zoveel verschil gehoord. Persoonlijk vind ik de HD versie erg geslaagd. Ja, wel wat spijtig dat the SFX er zo slecht uit zien, ik weet niet waarom ze die niet hebben kunnen opkuisen. Is nauwelijks of geen verschil merkbaar voor deze scenes met de DVD's. Voor mij dan ook het enige minpunt van de set maar desalniettemin zijn 49 Euro toch wel waard. En daarbij ik moest hem hebben voor de reeks volledig op BR te hebben he. Mission accomplished

De SFX zullen net als bij series als Star Trek e.d. gewoon voor sd-tv-kwaliteit zijn gemaakt met jaren-70-videotechniek, terwijl de live actions op film geschoten zijn, wat een HD-formaat is. Ze zijn dus niet in betere kwaliteit beschikbaar.

Bij Star Trek zijn de effecten opnieuw gemaakt met nieuwe CGI-technieken, maar dat kent een veel grotere en trouwere fanbase van Trekkies dan Battlestar Galactica (en dua een veelvoud van het budget).

Valt wel mee hoor. Ik heb betere kwaliteit gezien maar de DVD's zijn prima te bekijken.
Ik lees juist bijna overal dat de bluray versie niet veel beter is.

LOL, inderdaad. Vroeg me al af hoe je de DVD's anders goed kon vinden.

De originele serie was eerder op blu-ray verschenen in Duitsland als amazon exclusive, maar komt nu ook in de UK uit. Eindelijk, normale teksten op de cover .

Ja, alleen heeft de Duitse versie die extra disc (wel een DVD). En de verpakking is anders (minder) als ik de berichten moet geloven. Daarentegen heb je geen Duitse titels erop .

Unfortunately this product has defects on disc 3, episode 10 & 11. Both have very bad digital blocking, loss of picture & sound. Requested a replacement, but this also had the same defect. Looks like Amazon's allocated stock of this product is all defective. So avoid buying until they have sorted this problem out.

I would have expected much better from a studios such as Universal, to allow defective products to be released for sale. Obviously their quality control department isn't doing the job it's supposed to.
