Miami Vice (Film)

Hallo,

Ik weet niet of ik in dit forumdeel goed zit maar het gaat mij meer om de kwaliteit van de Blu Ray van deze film.

Ik heb hem voor 8 euro gekocht en gisteren maar eens bekeken.
Wat mij tegen viel was het beeld en de dialogen.
Om met de dialogen te beginnen, die waren gewoon te zacht tov al het andere geluidzaken.

Het beeld vond ik enorm veel grain bevatten en ook vond ik de pastel avond luchten niet mooi doordat er een soort van strepen doorheen liepen.

In een recensie over het geluid heb ik net gelezen dat de DTS-HD Master een erg goede track is. Je hoort tijdens de actie scenes de kogels van voor naar achter en andersom gaan. Ik heb de surround speakers amper gehoord (bij andere films zijn ze wel nardukkelijk aanwezig).

Kunnen jullie je herkennen in deze zaken of ligt het toch aan mij en is deze blu ray gewoon wat op beeld en geluid wel beter had mogen zijn?

Ik ken de stijl van filmen wel van Mann, heb al zijn films en vind dat ook leuk, maar hier vond ik dit allemaal echt storend.

There is an almost endless list of digital artifacts present in Miami Vice. Obviously, noise is the primary cause of all the complaints while jaggies and strange color timing also add fuel to the fire. Of course, this is all intentional in Miami Vice so this is somewhat of a critic-proof transfer. Any critique of the look of the movie would have to be aimed at Mann and Bebee and that's something I'm not willing to do since I actually enjoy the unique look of this picture. One can certainly say that there aren't any other films in recent memory that share Miami Vice's distinctive look.

--> allemaal zo bedoeld dus; I'm of the opinion that this Blu-ray release of Miami Vice is extremely accurate to the theatrical presentation.

Over het geluid heb je deels gelijk, de rears en de dynamiek blijken wel in orde te zijn:

"The best elements of the mix sounds can be found in the film's action sequences. Rears snap, crackle, and pop with explosions and gunfire, with pans and imaging far superior on the DTS-MA track. The mix is on the bright side (there is a harshness to all the gunplay that quickly grows tiresome), but movement of sounds in the rears is excellent, with a force of sound that fully envelopes. Dynamics in these scenes are excellent; highs are clean (if again bright) and the subwoofer noticeably stronger than before."

Maar over de dialogen heb je idd gelijk:

"Unfortunately, my biggest complaint with the previous HD DVD is still present, if to a lesser degree, which is that I couldn't hear much of the dialogue. 'Miami Vice' is a very talky film, and with the plot already nearly incomprehensible, it doesn't help that dialogue sounds low and mumbled, and further obscured by score and effects."

Dit is wel de US extended versie. Heb jij de NL bioscoopversie? Dan is de DTS-HD MA track wellicht iets anders gemixt...

Bedankt voor jullie reacties. Tja is dan zo bedoeld. Ik vond het redelijke storend, maar dat is smaak.

Ik vraag me af wat er dan mis gaat met het surroundsound bij mij omdat ik het bij andere BD niet heb.
Ik moet wel zeggen dat de front en sub hun best het erg goed deden maar hoorde de kogels niet echt van voor naar achter komen of vice versa. Ik had het geluid toch redelijk aanstaan.
