Ik kreeg vandaag mijn Fantasia-only UK editie binnen van HMV (met art-cards erin) en die bleek netjes een mooie slipcase te hebben. Ik twijfelde nog even of ik niet alsnog voor de dubbel-editie moest gaan, maar ik vind het toch eigenlijk wel mooi om voor zo'n film als enkel-release te hebben met een slipcase. Fantasia 2000 bestel ik dan later nog wel eens.

Hmmm... op zich heb ik emotioneel ook niet zo veel met Fantasia, maar dé reden tot aanschaf was voor mij wel het geluid...

Ik had gehoopt dat de klassieke stukken glashelder en met hoge precisie door de speakers zouden komen, maar dat is dus volgens jou niet zo?
Blijkbaar is de leeftijd van het materiaal duidelijk te horen?

Een heropname van de stukken had ik misschien dan ook wel een betere optie gevonden...

Iemand enig idee of de US BR versie region locked is? Zit namelijk te azen op de BR/DVD combi. Heb een regio vrije Dvd speler, maar de BR drive in m'n laptop is niet regio vrij.

Nee, dat blijkt niet uit de recensie. Er staat "Region A (B, C untested)". Dus ze hebben niet getest of deze ook regio B en C is. De cover geeft wel regio A aan, maar dat zegt niet alles.

Als de UK versie regiovrij is (wat DVDBeaver aangeeft), dan is de US versie dat toch praktisch zeker ook?

Als de informatie op de cover van de UK versie klopt dan is Fantasia regio B en Fantasia 2000 regiovrij.

De Amerikaanse editie van Fantasia/Fantasia 2000 heeft een regio A-logootje op de hoes, maar is REGIOVRIJ. Hij speelt af in mijn regio B-speler.

Uit de uitgebreide recensie op http://www.dvdizzy.com/fantasia-fant...llectionb.html blijkt dat de extra's die via bd-live beschikbaar zijn gewoon op de Amerikaanse Fantasia 2000-bd zijn gezet. Ze zijn alleen niet afspeelbaar omdat je ze niet via het menu kunt bereiken.

While it's a relief to see most of the Fantasia Aanthology features ported over (more on what's missing later), the concept of Disney's Virtual Vault doesn't sit well with me. There's no way to actually download these videos, meaning you're having to buffer them upon each viewing. That alone can take a great deal of time even on a reasonably fast Internet connection. On top of that, how long are we to expect Disney to keep hosting these clips on their server? At some point in time they'll inevitably remove them, resulting in dead links on this disc. To add insult to injury, there's no way to view these full screen. Each clip is presented in a tiny window dwarfed by the background menu. Watching streaming video that can be taken down at any time in small windows doesn't seem like a very ideal way of seeing these supplements.
Here's where things get really odd. All of the above features are actually on the Fantasia 2000 disc itself. Yes, you read that right. Disney is making you sit through neverending bufferings in postage stamp windows when they've authored those same clips on the actual disc. There's no way to view them, however, except by accessing the disc's files on a Blu-ray disc drive. Once you do that, you're actually able to watch these in full screen on your monitor without any loading time. Why on earth would Disney provide these by BD-live when they're all right there just needing direct menu links? Their press releases touted that the Virtual Vault was designed so that supplements didn't have to take up much disc space. That claim is negated when you're still putting all of that content on the hard disc after all, never mind the fact that Blu-ray can hold nearly 23 hours of standard definition content. Something is awfully fishy, here, and consumers are getting the short end of the stick because of it.

Afspeelbaar als je BD Live hebt....! Héél vaag inderdaad. Temeer omdat ik nog geen blu-ray van Disney heb gezien waarbij Live het ook daadwerkelijk deed. (om één of andere reden nooit geschikt voor deze regio...)

F2000 heb ik nog niet bekeken.
Wilde eindelijk F eens zien:
Fantasia starten: Het is inderdaad om gek van te worden, het relaistje in de Oppo bleef maar klikken, moest trailers overspringen, en ik heb dat kasteellogo meermalen voorbij zien komen voor ik een topmenu zag...
Maar goed, al die "opleukingen" zijn nog steeds in de mode!
Maar toen:
Ik wilde de originele (maar wel gerestaureerde) versie zien, met Stokowski als dirigent en ook de oorspronkelijke introdukties.
Het leek er echter op dat de "oorspronkelijke 4:3 versie" greyed out was, en ik moest wel de "Disneyview" (of zoiets) kiezen met Levine als dirigent en een moderne narrator.

Doe ik iets verkeerd?
