The British Films Institute has provided the final specs for its upcoming Blu-ray release of Paul Verhoeven's film Spetters (1980), starring Renee Soutendijk, Rutger Hauer, Jeroen Krabbé, Maarten Spanjer, and Toon Agterberg. The release will be available for purchase on December 2.

Ik heb inmiddels de Engelse Blu-ray. Het grote verschil met de Nederlandse uitgave is dat de film nu op Blu-ray staat in de originele aspect ratio van 1.66:1. Voor de Nederlandse uitgave is het beeld wat opgeblazen naar beeldvullend 1.78:1, waardoor er wat beeld van de boven en onderkant is afgesneden.
Op de DVD staan de extra’s zoals die ook, naar ik aanneem, op de Duitse uitgave staan. Vooral de uitzending van “Andere Tijden” vind ik interessant.
De Nederlandse uitgave is alleen nog nuttig vanwege de Nederlandse ondertitels.
