Welkom bij de eerste editie van DVD News update!

In deze nieuwe rubriek willen we jullie op de hoogte houden van de laatste nieuwtjes op gebied van R1 en R2 UK dvd’s. Deze rubriek zal info bevatten omtrent specs en artwork van nog uit te komen R1 en R2 UK dvd’s. Deze rubriek is dus nu gescheiden van Movie News Update! Veel plezier bij het lezen!


Alexander (R2 UK)
Warner Bros heeft plannen om de Oliver Stone epic ‘Alexander’ uit te brengen op dvd. De single en double disc editie van de film zullen vanaf 1 Augustus dit jaar te koop zijn. Wat betreft de extra’s is nog niks bekend, Warner heeft deze nog niet vrijgegeven. Maar wel een eerste blik op de cover art voor de double disc editie:


Billy Elliot (R2 UK)
Universal Pictures maakt zich klaar voor de special edition release van Billy Elliot. De twee disc special edition zal vanaf 9 Mei dit jaar verkrijgbaar zijn en zal een slordige twee uur aan nieuw bonus materiaal hebben. Hier een overzicht van de extra’s en een eerste blik op de cover art:

Hide & Seek (R1)
Al eerder maakten we wat specs bekend van de R1 release van de thriller Hide & Seek met Robert De Niro, kindersterretje Dakota Fanning en onze eigen Famke Janssen. De dvd is verkrijgbaar vanaf 5 Juli dit jaar. Hier een overzicht van de specs, extra’s en de covert art van de widescreen uitgave van deze film. De film zal ook verkrijgbaar zijn in een fullscreen editie.

Lemony Snicket’s A Series of Unfortunate Events (R2 UK)
Dreamworks Home Entertaiment heeft de release aangekondigd van Lemony Snicket’s A Series of Unfortunate Events. De film zal op 27 Mei van dit jaar uitkomen in twee versies.

Als eerste de single disc versie die de volgende extra’s zal bevatten:
-Audio commentary with director Brad Silberling
-Audio commentary from director Brad Silberling with the real Lemony Snicket!
-Deleted scenes and outtakes
-\'Building A Bad Actor\': a look at the process of creating Olaf\'s characters

Coach Carter (R1)
Paramount Home Entertaiment heeft in de VS Coach Carter, met Samual Jackson in de hoofdrol, op dvd aangekondigd. De single disc zal op 21 Juni van dit jaar uitkomen. Er zal een widescreen en fullscreen versie van de film uitkomen. Hier een overzicht van de extra’s die op beide versies aanwezig zijn, en een blik op de cover art van Coach Carter.
