[B]Digital Projection Enables 3D Home Theater With Titan 1080p 3D Projector Although the Blu-ray Disc Association just released specifications for the Blu-ray 3D format, 3D-ready televisions and projectors are already in the market. Case in point, Digital Projection, a company that serves the commercial and prosumer market, has recently made available its Titan 1080p 3D projector. Using the same 3-chip DLP technology as movie theater projectors, the Titan 1080p 3D produces a 1080p resolution image with a 120 megahertz processor built in so you'll get a full resolution 1080p image in each eye. Digital Projection uses Active 3D, which allows for a wide viewing angle at various heights. The unit still requires viewers to wear 3-D glasses when viewing content in 3-D. Screen size, however, is "the bigger the better." It's capable of projecting a bright 3D on an 18' or larger screen. Larger sizes are more immersive as they fill the whole area viewed through the glasses. Glasses retail for roughly $250 per pair, though discount packages are available. A 3D content server from Digital Projection plus eight pairs of glasses plus support will run about $40,000.
