Kingsman: The Secret Service sequel
Jun 15, 2015

[h=2]Matthew Vaughn is definitely writing a Kingsman: The Secret Service sequel. If the script is right, he's making the film...[/h] The box office take for Kingsman: The Secret Service has proven to be one of the biggest surprises of the movie year. The film, which cost a relatively modest $80m to make (before marketing, distribution, a few snacks at the airport), grossed just over $400m at the global box office. In the US too it was released against Fifty Shades Of Grey. It was expected to get spanked (ah sorry, it's Friday), but took $128m in America alone. Around the time of the film's release, Matthew Vaughn - who turned down X-Men: Days Of Future Past to make Kingsman - was chatting about a possible sequel, but didn't want to count his proverbial chickens. No need now, and Fox for one is most definitely after a sequel to the film, it was revealed a few weeks back. Now? Vaughn, chatting to Yahoo!, has confirmed the same. "Well, the good news is that I'm writing it next door at the moment", he said. "If I think I can get the script good enough, then we are making it. We are doing our damnedest to make that happen". Kingsman 2 will be the first full sequel that Vaughn has made. X-Men: First Class was a reboot of sorts, whilst his attempt to make Stardust 2 ultimately failed. This time around? It's very likely to happen. "I’m in love with these characters and I want to work with them again so I’ll probably be breaking the rule of me tending not to make sequels", he told Yahoo!. There's no word yet on when Kingsman 2 will arrive, as previously Vaughn has suggested that he'll make another film before it. But we will, of course, keep you posted... [h=2]Halle Berry is set the head up in the CIA in Kingsman: The Secret Service 2[/h] Production is about to begin on Matthew Vaughn’s sequel to Kingsman: The Secret Service. Taron Egerton will be reprising the role of Eggsy in the movie, and we now learn that Halle Berry is in talks for a role.
She’s set to play the head of the CIA in Kingsman: The Secret Service 2. Furthermore, the deal she’s going to sign will cover two pictures in the role, and that in itself clearly suggests plans to turn Kingsman into a trilogy. We’ve no idea when Kingsman: The Secret Service 3 is likely to follow, though.
For now, the second film is due in cinemas in June 2017. As we hear more, we’ll let you know…
