Er komen nieuwe wrekers dvd aan in seizoens boxsets I've been asked to post this by Emma Flood, Product Manager for The Avengers at Cinema Club: ---- I am the Product Manager for Cinema Club and am currently working on the 'The Avengers' release. Further to comments made on The Avengers.TV International Forum I would just like to take this opportunity to update you on the project. Whilst we are keen to see an early release we are dedicated to ensuring that the Cinema Club launch ensures this product receives the care and attention it deserves. Further to your comments I have tried to summarise and share some of the background information that goes into each release. Release Date We are looking at commencing releases in March pending restoration, with further series sets following throughout the year. We pay particularly attention to packaging which will be rather special (I hope) and if all goes according to plan there will be exciting extras. We have access to 136 episodes (79 in black and white, 57 in colour) from 1961-1968. This includes the 2 episodes 'Girl on a Trapeze', and 'The Frighteners'. We also have the uncompleted episode - Hot Snow, however I have spoken to Canal and the quality of the master means it cannot be released as yet, this is something we will look into. Once I get confirmation I will make sure I pass this information on. Subtitles We are hoping to be able to release with subtitles - a key factor in the success of this title. We will of course update you as soon as this is confirmed. Masters Certain acquisitions do take considerable time to process. This is certainly one of them. Each process can be very involved specifically when working with counterparts in France, and the restoring of masters. Whilst we feel as passionate about the release of 'The Avengers' as do your members, we do work within certain cost constraints that must be taken into consideration. Alan Hayes mentioned VidFIRE as a possible method for the early series so that the DVDs are given a 'video look', as in the Doctor Who series; this is something we will be pursuing and is currently with our Production dept for discussion. Extras We are committed to releasing the best version possible and provide a product that will please all the Avengers fans. We are at present looking into viable extras that we believe will make our release highly collectable. Cinema Club are extremely passionate about the titles we work on and all efforts are made to release each product at an affordable price, however despite personal wishes to invest in or restore products we can only move within the confines of our relationship with each licensor - hence not all CC products have been restored to their glory despite the best intentions of those at Cinema Club. Kind Regards hout the year. We pay particularly attention to packaging which will be rather special (I hope) and if all goes according to plan there will be exciting extras.
